Dear Friends of Littlest Bookshop,
Do you remember where you were at the beginning of 2022? I remember getting into the car that chilly, damp Saturday morning – having barely slept the night before – filled with anticipation and excitement for what the day would bring. I had absolutely no idea what was in store for us on that first day of the new year, but we were ready to jump in feet first and see where the adventure would take us.
And so how has the year been? It has been amazing, thanks to you.
Over the last twelve months, we have gained a loyal following of moms, dads, kids, teachers, grandparents, and book lovers of all ages. We have welcomed visitors from all over the globe: authors, students, and families. We have shared stories with customers, learning about their pasts, their passions, their struggles, and the new adventures they are embarking on. We have had enthusiastic cheerleaders from day one (you know who you are) and continue to meet more and more each day. We have met new neighbors and friends who have welcomed us into a community of like minded folks dedicated to supporting local business, championing the importance of reading, and believing that books are a powerful gateway to change. Day after day, week after week, we have been humbled by your gratitude and support.
We have also learned some valuable lessons over the past year. Some have been hard, some have been comical, but – as is the way with lessons – they have all been gifts. We are so grateful for the connections made, the collaborations that began, and all the love that has been bestowed on our sweet little shop.
Thank you to the authors, illustrators, teachers, students, journalists, and witches who have made this our best year so far!
Here’s to even more adventures in 2023!
All our love,
Hypatia and Jesse
